As far as dj. flugvél og geimskip is concerned, we can say with confidence that there’s a high chance you’ve never seen or heard anything remotely similar. An Icelandic
sorceress of doom, glitter and light, Steinunn Eldflaug Harðardóttir’s music is hard to categorise indeed. In her own words, the closest thing that can attempt to
describe it is “electronic horror music from outer space”.
Putting together an array of interstellar synthetic sounds, tribal drum-machine rhythms and her crystal clear high-pitched vocal lines, dj. flugvél og geimskip blew us
out of orbit. The live shows she performs match the eccentricity of her music with an almost spiritual sense of burning-fast mysticism, laser beams galore. Listening
to her music is going on a journey to a different time and place, everywhere, all the time.
