Long Life is the quintessence of all that mandarinaduck made before – in sound, lyrics, compositional minimalism, and distinctiveness from trivial guitar genres. It is the brightest and most optimistic record but still
within the melancholy that has always been an integral part of the band, with a light and transparent sound of guitar layers and a rock solid rhythm section.
Almost every song is like a ping-pong party with friends
(bouncing from verse to chorus), being disrupted by lightning thunderclouds with showers and eventually a rainbow (solo guitars), but nobody leaves and the party goes on...
