RELEASES ~ МУЗЫКА ДЛЯ ГРУЗОВЫХ ЛИФТОВ - ПОРТРЕТ
Портрет is MDGL's first EP after a series of singles, in which they moved away from coldwave and post-punk towards a more danceable and synthetic sound, inspired by the atmosphere of classic horror movies that
they used to watch on VHS in their childhood.
In the lyrics, they tried to convey the corresponding sense of anxiety and tension, balancing between internal experiences of lonely person and things that happen in the world around them.
The first track is called "Tape" and it’s about a one way car trip without the ability to return. The second track is "Dirt". It recreates a feeling of being suddenly overtaken by self-reflection. The third track is
called "Love" and, strangely enough, it is about love.
The next track is "Portrait". The story of a man who finds himself in a strange medieval room where he discovers an ugly and frightening portrait of a dead man in which he gradually recognizes himself.
The last instrumental track is 944. Just 944.
The b-side features tracks that have been floating online for a little longer.
